Medical Biological Scientist (HPCSA) in the specialization of clinical diagnostic virology based at the Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation (CERI). Current Ph.D. fellow at Stellenbosch University with a focus on viral pathogen surveillance for implementation in ISO15189 environments.
Strong research and industry trained professional with laboratory experience in both government and private sector. Previously employed at the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) within Groote Schuur Hospital, in the position of medical biological scientist.
I have 3+ yearsâ industry experience in clinical diagnostic laboratories operating in accordance with ISO15189, ISO9001 and ISO17025. Operationally, I have been involved in teamwork orientated roles, namely; internal audits for SANAS, root cause analysis for laboratory issues and improvement of lab workflow in accordance with the QMS. Furthermore, involvement in project management roles to implement new testing methods.
