I was awarded a PhD in 2020 which focused on the ecology and conservation of bats in forests in South Africa with specialisation in the fields of bioacoustics, population genetics, phylogeography and landscape ecology. Thereafter, I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Biological Interactions Lab at Stellenbosch University, where my research interest was centred around pollination biology, specifically how plants and pollinators have evolved to interact with one another. I have six years of working experience as a Senior Environmental Consultant, specializing in environmental impact assessments of bats for renewable energy developments across southern Africa. I am a SACNASP registered Professional Natural Scientist. I undertook an MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation researching several ecological factors that affect two bat species, and the application of this research to wind farm development in South Africa
