Advancing scientific education on the African continent
Thermo Fisher Scientific in partnership with the KwaZulu Natal Research Innovation and Sequencing Platform (KRISP) at University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in South Africa has developed an educational programme on PCR which has been offered to high school and tertiary students.
The initiative is aligned is aligned to Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) Education in South Africa and aim to build and foster science education and skills across the region, enabling high-quality research. Watch the overview of the training.
As part of this program, we are Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) training programs on molecular techniques in South Africa. Training is open to students and for technical staff of commercial and academic laboratories

The training program started in July 2018. Training is schedule at the academic breaks so students easily attend. We normally take 20 participants per event as it includes hand-on laboratory experience.
