KRISP is constantly trying to build translational science capacity, establish global networks and ignite Africa's potential! In line with this mission statement, four members of the KRISP led, Durban SPARK team travelled across to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) for the 7th Annual Biomedical Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Course and the 5th Annual SPARK Global Meeting respectively.

SPARK Global is a network of 72 institutions in 23 countries around the world, which aims to create translational scientists without borders. Through events such as the recent ones in Sydney, this network aims to increase the impact of academic inventions for the benefit of patients worldwide, through:

- Unique education and mentoring of scientific innovation

- Financial support - focusing on fast solutions for patients regardless of economic outcome.
