Lucious Chabuka, our esteemed acting lab manager, has demonstrated exceptional dedication and passion throughout his journey. Graduating with a Master's degree, Lucious joined CERI in February 2022 with a vision to advance public health in Africa through groundbreaking genomics research. His impactful work on the Molecular Epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 in Malawi has been instrumental in understanding and combating the COVID-19 pandemic in Eastern and Southern Africa.

Maambele Khosa, who leads our Media and Communication efforts at CERI, has also achieved a significant milestone by obtaining an MPhil in Science and Technology Studies with a focus on Bibliometrics. Her expertise in bridging the gap between science and society has been invaluable in communicating our research findings effectively and fostering greater public engagement with science.

Additionally, we applaud the academic excellence of our dedicated students, Nikita Sitharam, Somila Ntsiyane, and Yandisa Ntatiso. Nikita's attainment of a Master's degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology showcases her exceptional skills and commitment to cutting-edge research. Furthermore, we extend our congratulations to Somila and Yandisa, who have graduated with honors degrees in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, even in their absence.

"Their dedication and academic prowess exemplifies the core values of CERI. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and confident in their continued contributions to the advancement of science and society."
