Haingo Andry is a PhD candidate in Applied Mathematics at Stellenbosch University, affiliated with the Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation (CERI). His research applies machine learning to understand and predict climate-driven migration and its implications for pandemic preparedness, with the aim of informing data-driven public health strategies. He has a background in mathematics and experience as data scientist. He holds an M.Sc. in Mathematical Sciences from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), South Africa, where he specialized in the application of artificial intelligence in science. In 2025, he received the Google PhD Fellowship. His research interests span artificial intelligence for science, public health, and epidemic preparedness.
