About Sheylle Green

Background:

I hold a BSc Honours in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from Stellenbosch University, where I completed a six-month honours research project at CERI. My research evaluated the efficacy of shotgun metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) for pathogen detection in children with respiratory infections, compared to multiplex viral PCR.
Currently, I am a bioinformatics research intern at CERI for six months before beginning my Master’s. I am eager to explore computational approaches for genomic analysis and develop new bioinformatic skills, making the most of this opportunity to learn from the incredible CERI team.
