Background:

I am a PhD candidate in applied mathematics at the Center for Epidemic Response and Innovation (CERI), Stellenbosch University. My research bridges machine learning, spatial epidemiology, and ecology, with a focus on epidemic prediction, phylogeography, and species/disease distribution modelling.
I have a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, mathematical modelling, big data analysis, and business intelligence. I was part of the first cohort of the AI for Science master’s program at AIMS South Africa, sponsored by Google DeepMind.
Passionate about using AI for public health, I aim to develop innovative models to improve epidemic response and deepen our understanding of disease dynamics.
