Beatrice is an African STARS fellow currently enrolled for MSc in Bioinformatics of Infectious Diseases at CERI, Stellenbosch University, a Malawian Microbiologist committed to advancing infectious disease diagnostics and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance in low-resource settings. Her experience spans clinical microbiology, laboratory quality management and youth-led AMR advocacy. As an African STARS MSc Fellow in Bioinformatics of Infectious Diseases and Pathogen Genomics, she aims to develop advanced genomic and computational expertise to strengthen Malawi’s pathogen surveillance capacity and drive locally informed diagnostic and treatment innovations to infectious diseases and reduce the burden of AMR.
