Nicholas Mogoi (Nick) is an African STARS fellow currently enrolled for MSc in Bioinformatics of Infectious Diseases at CERI, Stellenbosch University, a molecular biologist with a focus on antimicrobial resistance and pathogen genomics. His previous work was on the diversity and transmission of multi-drug resistant pathogens in clinical settings, with a broader goal of strengthening the surveillance of infectious disease in sub-Saharan Africa. As a next-generation researcher, he is particularly interested in leveraging bioinformatics and big data to inform strategies for combating emerging pathogens in the region. Nick remains committed to collaborations and contributing to global health efforts aligned with SDG 3.
