Daniel is a final year PhD student in Computer Science with a focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning. He completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Stellenbosch University and has been conducting research with CERI since the start of 2024 at the intersection of computer science and genomics. Through his research, he has applied his background in computer science and machine learning to develop novel methods for efficiently modeling and classifying viral genomes.
